Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharifs Visit to Iran
Called on the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic and the President of Iran
On May 25 the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei received the Honorable Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr. Shehbaz Sharif along with his high-level delegation. The delegation included Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar and Special Adviser to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi.
On May 25, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, received the Honorable Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mr. Shehbaz Sharif, along with his high-level delegation. The delegation included Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar, and Special Adviser to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi.
During the meeting, the Supreme Leader expressed satisfaction over the cessation of hostilities between Pakistan and India and voiced hope for a peaceful resolution to the outstanding issues between the two nations. He also underscored Pakistan’s prominent role in the Islamic world and called for coordinated and effective efforts by Iran and Pakistan to halt the atrocities being committed by the Zionist regime in Gaza.
President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, also held a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his delegation. The two leaders later participated in a joint press conference. President Pezeshkian affirmed the strong will of both countries to enhance border security and to combat elements that threaten regional stability. He further stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran considers Pakistan’s security integral to its own national interest and welcomes the restoration of peace and a ceasefire between Pakistan and India.
