Official Visit of H.E. Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, honourable  President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, to Pakistan

                 At the invitation of His Excellency Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, honouable Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, His Excellency Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, honouable President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, paid an official visit to Pakistan on 23 June 2026, accompanied by a high-level delegation.

               Upon his arrival at PAF Base Nur Khan, President Pezeshkian was accorded a warm welcome by His Excellency Asif Ali Zardari, President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and His Excellency Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.

             During the visit, President Pezeshkian held a meeting with honouable Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of the Defence Forces of Pakistan. The discussions focused on regional developments, peace initiatives, and matters of mutual interest. President Pezeshkian expressed his appreciation for Pakistan's constructive and responsible role in promoting dialogue, reducing regional tensions, and contributing to peace and stability.

         The two sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to further strengthening the longstanding fraternal relations between Pakistan and Iran and agreed to continue close consultations on bilateral, regional, and international issues of mutual interest, with the common objective of advancing peace, prosperity, and enduring stability across the region.

          As part of the visit, the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) conferred upon President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Cardiac Surgery (Honoris Causa) in recognition of his distinguished contributions to the medical profession and public service.
